The Jack 'O Lantern Launcher is a Hardmode, post-Plantera launcher that fires Explosive Jack 'O Lanterns which ricochet off blocks before exploding upon contact with an enemy or after 7 seconds. Explosive Jack 'O Lanterns deal two instances of damage to enemies: once upon contact, and again from the resulting explosion. The Jack 'O Lantern Launcher has a base 10% critical strike chance as opposed to the usual 4%.

The Jack 'O Lantern Launcher is dropped by the Pumpking during the Pumpkin Moon event with a 1.56–12.5% (6.25–12.5%) chance depending on the current wave. When dropped, the Jack 'O Lantern Launcher is always accompanied by 25 to 50 Explosive Jack 'O Lanterns. Explosive Jack 'O Lanterns can also be bought from the Arms Dealer for 15 CC each if the Jack 'O Lantern Launcher is in the player's inventory.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

• Despite being explosive, Jack 'O Lanterns do not damage the player who fired them.
• Explosive Jack 'O Lanterns are extraordinarily bouncy, as much as Spiky Balls, if not more, allowing for bouncing them up into crevices where normal Grenades cannot reach.

Tips

• With relatively cheap ammo, this can easily turn into a replacement for the Grenade Launcher if the player uses non-destructive rockets.
• It is especially useful for close encounters with large numbers of enemies, such as in the post-Plantera Dungeon.
