Notes
- Crafting all items, excluding the boss-summoning items and Key of Night(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), requires 134 Souls of Night. One of each boss-summoning item and a Key of Night require an additional 24 Souls of Night.
- An enemy can only drop a Soul of Night under the following circumstances:[1]
- The world is in Hardmode.
- The player is in a Corruption/Crimson biome. This content is transcluded from Souls.
- The enemy is killed in the Cavern layer or in the Underworld.
- In a Don't dig up or Get fixed boi world, this condition does not apply. The enemy can be killed in any layer in these worlds.
- The enemy has more than 1 maximum health. This means that spells, Fungi Spores, Spores, etc. cannot drop souls.
- The enemy drops at least 1 CC. This means that statue-spawned enemies, Meteor Heads, boss minions, etc. cannot drop souls.
- The enemy is neither a boss, a Slimer with wings, nor any of these slimes:
Trivia
- Although the tooltip reads 'The essence of dark creatures', Souls of Night can be dropped by enemies that are not native to the Underground Corruption or Crimson.
