The Wandering Eye is a Hardmode enemy that spawns at night and attacks like a Demon Eye. It initially resembles a larger Demon Eye, but at half health (150 / 300 / 450), its pupil will peel off and reveal a mouth with teeth, similarly to the Eye of Cthulhu. Its attack pattern does not change, although its movements get faster. On the Nintendo 3DS version, it can pass through blocks and is completely resistant to knockback in this second form.
Wandering Eyes will flee when the sun rises. They appear more often during a new moon.[1]
Notes
- (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) The Wandering Eye counts towards the Demon Eye Banner.
Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Wandering Eye: "That suspicious feeling of being watched may very well come true in the dark of night, when Cthulhu's minions roam the skies."
- This Bestiary entry is shared with the Demon Eye. A separate entry for the Wandering Eye exists in the game files, but it is unused: "Given time to mature, Demon Eyes will continue to grow in size and danger. These ones are old enough that their teeth have come in."[2]
