The Toucan is a critter that spawns in the Jungle during the daytime. The Toucan has only 5 health and no defense, and can be damaged by other enemies and players.

The Toucan can be caught with any Bug Net to be carried around in the inventory and released later, or crafted into animated decorative furniture (Toucan Cage). Once crafted, the Toucan cannot be released again, unless the furniture item is de-crafted via Shimmer(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).

The Toucan can be spawned by the Toucan Statue, however statue-spawned critters cannot be caught with any Bug Net, and will disappear in a puff of smoke when the player attempts to do so.

Trivia

• Toucans are members of the Ramphastidae family, native to the Neotropics. Its name originates from the Tupi word tukana, derived via Portuguese.
• The Toucan, Blue Macaw, Gray Cockatiel, Owl, Scarlet Macaw, and Yellow Cockatiel are the only bird critters that cannot be cooked into food.

• The Bestiary entry for the Toucan: "You can often find this brightly-plumed and large-beaked bird looping around high in the trees in search of delicious fruit."

• The Toucan's Bestiary entry mentioning its behavior of "looping" and having a fruit-based diet is a reference to Toucan Sam, the mascot for the Kellogg's Fruit Loops breakfast cereal brand.
