The Ragged Caster is a Hardmode, post-Plantera enemy that spawns in the Dungeon after Plantera is defeated. It attacks by firing three homing Lost Soul projectiles at the player which decelerate as they approach the player and inflict the Blackout debuff for 2–6 / 4–12 / 5–15 seconds on them. Ragged Casters teleport to a different location on-screen after firing six rounds of projectiles.
Ragged Casters spawn most often in areas of the Dungeon backed by slab walls. They can also spawn in other areas, but with a significantly reduced chance.

Notes
- Unlike the other Hardmode Dungeon casters, the Ragged Caster will not teleport immediately after being hit.
- Ragged Casters can only teleport onto solid blocks. If there is no valid place to teleport to, they will remain in the same location.
- They are only able to teleport while resting on a solid block.
- For the banner the kill counts of both variants are added up.
Tips
- Repeatedly damaging Ragged Casters will prevent them from teleporting or attacking.
- Weapons with homing capacities or minions can continue to track Ragged Casters after they teleport.
Trivia
- The
Bestiary entry for the Ragged Caster: "With their cursed magic, the members of the Ragged Brotherhood leave their victims helplessly lost in utter darkness."
