The Lava Bat is a Hardmode bat enemy that appears in the The Underworld after one of the mechanical bosses has been defeated. They are a stronger version of Hellbats.

In the Get fixed boi(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) secret world seed, it drops lava upon death.

Trivia

• (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) Despite being a bat, it cannot inflict Feral Bite in Expert Mode. Only Cave Bats, Jungle Bats, Giant Bats, Spore Bats, and Giant Flying Foxes cause this debuff.

• The Bestiary entry for the Lava Bat: "What's worse than a rabid, fast-flying, and annoying flying rodent? One that is on fire, of course!"
