The Etherian Lightning Bug is a Hardmode, post-Golem enemy that spawns during Old One's Army event. It spawns during Tier 3 i waves 2 and 6.

Upon gaining line of sight with the player, an Etherian Lightning Bug flies towards them and attempts to position itself slightly beyond the melee reach of the player (or a distance less than 10 tiles away from the player). Afterward, it fires short-ranged Withering Bolts approximately once every half second which deal high damage and inflict the Withered Weapon debuff, which halves player-inflicted damage for 5 seconds.[2]

It is one of only two enemies from the Old One's Army that requires the usual 50 kills to obtain its corresponding banner, the other being the Wither Beast.

  • The BestiaryBestiary entry for the Etherian Lightning Bug: "Lightning Bugs from Etheria aren't just named that for their pretty lights! These ones blast their foes with shocking bolts of electricity."
