Animation of the Throwing Knife.

The Throwing Knife is a consumable ranged weapon that can pierce up to two enemies. They can be purchased from the Merchant during a Blood Moon for 50 CC each and may also be found in Chests. Throwing Knives are greatly affected by gravity and arc similarly to Shurikens and Bones. They have the greatest range of these consumable ranged weapons (with Bones having the least).

(Old-gen console and 3DS versions) Throwing Knives have a 1/2 (50%) chance of being retrievable after use, even after hitting enemies.

(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) The Merchant will use Throwing Knives to defend himself against nearby enemies.
